The former Apple engineers have reportedly been tasked with applying their signature depth-of-field algorithms to perfectly blur the terrifying reality of the physical world.

According to an internal repository, the $300 million acquisition will bypass traditional smartphone photography entirely, instead utilizing OpenAI's vast compute resources to algorithmically detect and blur messy living rooms, unwashed dishes, and the looming threat of human obsolescence.

The acquisition signals a major pivot for OpenAI's upcoming hardware roadmap, which previously relied on users simply refusing to look away from their screens. Now, integrated Glass Imaging sensors will actively track the user's eye movements, instantly applying an aggressive background blur to any non-generated, biological elements in their field of view. The system is designed to seamlessly obscure everything from rush-hour traffic to the faces of concerned family members, replacing them with a gentle, out-of-focus wash of light.
Development is reportedly proceeding ahead of schedule, though engineers noted a minor delay during early internal testing.
